Why playing in the mud is more than fun Why playing in the jury is more than fun as a child, attracted me to the judge. Some of my most affectionate childhood memories saw me covered with things, head on foot. Herba and water... 2 very simple and basic ingredients have and remain the source of so much activity, creativity, joy and sensory fun for children and adults. Do you remember what it felt like to rub mud through your fingers? Do you remember to be on the edge of the mud pit, looking with hesitation, repulsion, wonder and astonishment. Mud is amazing, how he can conjure such polarizing feelings, how this simple substance can make us feel upset and rebels at the same time so joyful, inspired and alive. Unbelievable. This grunted, gooeya and sticky substance always seemed to have magical powers over me as a child. In his presence, it is so much possible. Just standing in it shoots my imagination! I inspired myself. Even when I'm holding mud in my hands today, I still feel like I could create something. I am transported very quickly to a playful childhood mood. And there's no greater pleasure than giving you permission to get dirty! Now that I'm an adult, and a father, I realized I didn't play in the mud anymore. But I'm changing that. In recent years I have rediscovered my love to play in the mud and QLD team of Nature Play has been on a mission to bring Mud Play back! Nature Play QLD has organized many Mud events over the past 3 years and has learned a lot from children about the art of the mud game. Thank you guys, you've been very inspiring... Mud play is about fun, involves all the senses, and it must be a normal part of the outdoor game. H.Moser I have also discovered these days that it may take a little longer to convince our children to get dirty – possibly a side effect of our obsessed cleaning world – but when they do, children only love it! They start with 1 finger in the mud and I see with great satisfaction as they work to be immersed in total. Covered from head to foot and using it in so many ways. Mud play is about fun, involves all the senses, and it must be a normal part of the outdoor game. And, those childhood feelings, did I have on mud with magical powers? It turns out they were right! Playing in mud is not only fun, it's good for kids too! I've been investigating the mud game, and I've discovered some amazing facts behind this magical material, as well as some amazing and interesting statistics related to why our kids need to get their hands dirty. THE SCIENCE OF THE MUD PLAY There is a growing body of research on why children have an unconstructed need to play in mud. There is evidence that suggests that mud game is a basic biological need, and this kind of game has many physical, psychological and emotional benefits for children. MUD TE HACER HAPPY – New research has shown that exposure to (Mycobacterium Vaccae) stimulates the immune system that makes the brain free serotonin, the endorfón used to regulate the mood.
